OPPLE Lighting Europe, based in Eindhoven, Netherlands, is the regional headquarters of OPPLE Lighting, a global leader in LED lighting solutions. From its distribution centre in the Netherlands, the company supplies the EU market with a wide range of products including LED panels, downlights, high bays, waterproof luminaires, streetlights, and smart lighting systems for residential, commercial, and industrial applications.
Challenge
4Supplychain was engaged to conduct a supply chain assessment with a focus on service level and cost. Based on data analysis and interviews with customers and key partners, we developed a plan to enhance OPPLE’s service level within the EU by improving lead times and order fulfilment. In addition, we benchmarked logistics costs for both transportation and warehousing to identify opportunities for efficiency and competitiveness.
Solution and deliverables
- Network study to determine the ideal network for now and in the near future with a focus on number of DC’s, locations, flows and related costs and service level
- Clear plan how they can significantly improve their logistic costs which we also implemented and achieved in a later phase:
- Implementation S&OP à reduction of inventory and strong improvement of their service level
- Order management à logistic cost and lead time
- Tender outsourcing activities (storage, distribution and VAS)
